Larry Bush, MD, FACP, FIDSA, is a specialist in the field of Infectious Diseases and has been practicing medicine in Palm Beach County, Florida since 1989. He has served as the Chief of Medical Staff and Chairman of the Board at the JFK Medical Center in Palm Beach County, Florida as well as the past president of the Palm Beach County Medical Society. Dr. Bush holds the academic positions of Clinical Affiliate Professor of Medicine at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine , Florida Atlantic University as a well as Clinical Affiliate Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami-Miller School of Medicine. He is the current Designated Institutional Officer (DIO) and Core Faculty Member for Infectious Diseases at the Wellington Regional Medical Center’s Graduate Medical Education Residency Program in Internal Medicine. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania, and his Medical Degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Subsequently, he did his residency in Internal Medicine at the Pennsylvania Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, where he went on to serve as Chief Medical Resident for one year. He completed specialty training as a fellow in Infectious Diseases at the Medical College of Pennsylvania before relocating to south Florida.
He has authored over 94 peer reviewed medical journal article publications as well as multiple book chapters in the field of Infectious Diseases and is a co-author for the Infectious Diseases section of the American College of Physicians Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program (MKSAP) and a major chapter on Intra-abdominal infections in the Mandell, Principals and Practice of Infectious Diseases textbook. In addition, he serves as an associate editor for 3 national Infectious Diseases journals.
Along with his full time Infectious Diseases clinical and academic teaching practice, Dr. Bush serves as the Infectious Diseases Principal Investigator and opinion leader for vaccine and antimicrobial medication studies at the JEM Headlands Research center located in Palm Beach County, Florida.
